Venice is the capital of the Veneto region of Italy in the North East. It is made up of 118 islands - the only way to see the famous sights is by boat. Saint Mark's square is the 'main' island where you can visit the top of the Campanile bell tower for great views, you can walk from here to the Rialto bridge, take a boat trip to the island of Murano where you can see traditional glass blowers working, take a gondola ride you can finish off relaxing on the beach on the island of Lido di Venezia where the restaurants are very good value (by Venice's standards!). Excursions in the area include: white water rafting and thermal swimming pools nearby, quad biking and many more.
Rugby is very popular in this region with clubs of all levels including really strong, plus your Italian hosts are very hospitable and will give you a very warm welcome.
Many groups opt to stay in Lido di Jesolo, a lively seaside resort on the East coast of the Veneto region of North Italy on the Adriatic sea. A popular tourist resort, it offers a huge sandy beach, lots of bars, nightclubs, live music and entertainment and is approximately 45 minutes away. Junior groups may prefer a holiday park option.
