Bulgaria's capital city is situated to the West of the country at the base of the Vitosha mountain with the Balkan mountains to the North. Sofia offers a great value for money tour with food and drink considerably cheaper than here. Regarding nightlife, every night is lively, not just the weekends. Give yourselves a challenge and try and find the Hambara bar, a well known 'hidden' bar off one of the side streets in the centre. It has no sign and no electricity but we can give you a couple of clues. You're spoiled for choice with bars and clubs – beware the local 'Rakia' it's extremely strong. Sofia is famous for it's natural hot springs, you can enjoy a swim in thermal water at approx. 40 degrees in a swimming pool overlooking nearby Pancherevo lake with a bar/restaurant and there are lots of other great excursions too.
