Barcelona is an amazing city and a fantastic base for your tour.
Rugby is seriously growing in popularity in Catalunya and teams will give you a great match and hospitality.
We highly recommend a stroll down the main boulevard, las Ramblas which takes you down to the port with it's bars and attractions, the hop-on, hop-off bus is great as there are so many sights and you can pick where you want to get off. Take an evening visit to the magic fountain with its light, music water show and street entertainers is free and amazing – don't miss this. Barcelona nightlife is legendary. There are options everywhere you go, but the main Boulevard, Las Ramblas has many bars and clubs along it, the medieval Gothic Quarter is great too with Irish pubs, and famous clubs like Jamboree, Sidecar and Tarantos, this latter hosts tapas and flamenco. El Born is less touristy, check out the back streets for some unusual bars. Port Olympic has lots of upmarket bars – check out the ice-bar here - sub-zero temperatures here, even the glasses are made of ice. From here head down to the Moll Mestral on the harbour - free entry into the bars and clubs here we love Kennedy's Irish bar here with its live music too. Lots of great excursions, we recommend the 'It's a knockout challenge' great fun and great for team bonding and laughs.
Choose whether to stay in Barcelona itself or one of the many nearby seaside coastal towns (Calella, Castelldefels, Lloret de Mar, Malgrat de Mar, Pineda de Mar, Santa Susanna, Tossa de Mar, Sitges) near the coast on the costa brava and visit for the day.
